The Wines of the World event put on by The Brad Richards Foundation was held at Hotel Chantelle in New York this weekend.

Richards and celebrity guests were in attendance along with fans, and VIP attendees to support the Foundation. The night included a silent auction, featuring exclusive items and experiences donated by Brad and others benefiting The Brad Richards Foundation.

VIP guests were granted exclusive access and took part in a priavate one-hour meet and greet with Brad. VIP guests had their picture taken with him and received a signed item.

Richards spoke to the NY Daily News, about the evolution of his foundation:

“The foundation began to benefit cancer and youth hockey, get more kids in involved, especially in Tampa, when in that place you’re trying to grow the game,” Richards said. “But even here in New York, living here, I realized that ice time is very hard to get, (there are) not a lot of rinks for the amount of people living in the area, so I wanted to keep that part of it. If I can help or any of us can help grow the game by bringing more youths into it and helping them understand the game, it creates more fans. And that’s always been part of the mission of the foundation.”

The Brad Richards Foundation exists to provide exceptional experiences and treatment for children and families enduring chronic and life threatening illness. The foundation also supports the advancement of youth and amateur sports.
